Religious Education Intent
Our vision is underpinned by five values: Commitment, Courage, Compassion, Creativity and Cooperation.
It is our intent at Martley CE Primary School to provide all of our children with a high-quality education in Religious Education, which develops their love of learning and curiosity about faiths and practices helping to provide them with an understanding of what it is to be a “global citizen’. We aim to build the children’s knowledge so that they understand the richness and diversity of religious and non-religious world views and encourage compassion and cooperation.
We want all pupils to develop a genuine interest and curiosity about religious and non-religious world views so that they may develop a commitment to continue their learning and in doing so, to develop tolerance of a range of beliefs and practices.
We want all pupils to develop the courage and confidence to engage in discussion about their understanding of spiritual matters, with the ability to confidently articulate their ideas in a safe, open environment.
It is our intention to foster creativity as a tool for effective learning through the way Religious Education is taught, this may be through drama, art, music or debate.
